Your job
- Development of our infrastructure (mainly our own hardware)
- Operation and monitoring of the infrastructure for our SaaS solutions CentralStationCRM und CentralPlanner
- Ongoing reliability improvements (such as a redundant data center)
- Evaluation of new technologies for deployment; knowledge exchange with colleagues
- Assist our developers with the deployment of our Rails applications
- You’re either a sysadmin who also cares about code and applications or a developer with a preference for IT architecture
- Education, degree or adequate practical experience in IT
- Experience in administration of Linux servers and databases
- Bonus points for experience in Debian/Ubuntu, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch and Puppet, as well as an affinity to open source
- Knowledge in Ruby on Rails, Capistrano and Juniper switches preferable
- Ability to work autonomously
- Articulate in verbal and written English, at least basic skills German - bonus points for better German
- Proactivity around questions and problems
- 24 to 40 work hours per week, flexible time management
- Work in our office in Cologne or from home. Unless there’s a pandemic, most team members work in the office once or twice per week. Some use the office almost daily, others very rarely.

- 10 per cent of working hours are dedicated to continuing education
- Relaxed atmosphere and flat hierarchies - results count more than titles!
- Implementing a staging environment with Capistrano and Puppet
- Planning app migrations in Kubernetes
- Expanding our monitoring and extending our Grafana dashboards
- Familiarizing yourself with a new technology and introducing it to the team.
